Â鶹ӰԺ's financial or physical hardship withdrawal process is intended
to limit debt owed by students who have to withdraw from the institution due to a
significant financial or physical hardship and to assist those students if and when
they choose to re-enroll. Types of hardships shall include but are not limited to:
- Serious injury or illness
- Chronic illness
- A medical issue of a family member in which the student has to become a part-time
or full-time caretaker of that family member
- A mental health condition
- A significant cost of living increase
- A sudden or consistent lack of transportation
- The death of an immediate family member
- Military activation
A student may submit a Tuition and Hardship Appeal Form with supporting documentation
to the Student Services Office, C2100, or email onestop@kish.edu. The submission of a Tuition and Hardship Appeal does not automatically result in
a refund. All Hardship Appeals are reviewed on a monthly basis by an interdepartmental
committee.
There is no appeal process for students who received financial aid and owe funds back.
The U.S. Department of Education mandates a specific refund calculation if a student
receives Pell, Direct Loans, and FSEOG financial aid and has withdrawn from and/or
failed all coursework. Depending on the financial aid received, the student may be
responsible for repaying some or all the aid back to the College if they withdraw,
regardless of circumstances.
Students who owe a balance to the College and wish to return are eligible to take
advantage of the Debt Relief program, which upon completion of their certificate or
degree, will result in the cancellation of debt incurred prior to re-enrollment. Please
